Sharon Gayter has stepped in to the Evreux 48 Hour Treadmill Race that started today in Evreux, France. Originally, Christina Garcia and Christopher Laborie were scheduled to run but have been unable to take part and have been replaced by Sharon and Olivier Chaigne.
Scotland’s William Sichel, who hasn’t run a race on a treadmill for some time will no doubt be hoping to add another record to his haul as he fulfils his goal of 60 records by the time he reaches 60 years old. William ran 180 km in 2002 on a treadmill and since has focussed on multidays building his endrance to high levels bring him notable success last year in the Unix 6 day race in Hungary and a win at the Monaco NoFinish Line where he was the first runner to break 1000 km in 8 days.
After 6 hours these were the standings in Evreux.
