THE TRACK is a 590 km is a new multiday race which will take place in the Australian outback in 9 stages. Runners must carry their own food and sleeping gear and be self-sufficient. There is a shorter ultramarathon, The Short Track of 322km. Event will take place from 10 to 19 May 2011.
The route is secret and will be revealed to runners at the start, but will take place between Alice Springs and Uluru, Australia’s landmark. Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is the largest monolith in the world – some 348 meters high in the middle of the desert.
The race will be held safely with the help of an experienced Franco-Australian medical team . A dozen vehicles and a helicopter support will also be present.
In addition, a TV production team will follow the race to produce and distribute worldwide a film of 48 minutes and daily news.
