GOMU World 48 Hour Championships 2022

The GOMU World 48 Hour Championships took place over the weekend in hot temperatures in Hainesport, NJ.
The early stages saw Dimosthenis Marifoglou (GRE) lead with Victoria Brown (CAN) in hot pursuit always having to look over her shoulder to keep an eye on Lisa Devona (USA). On the second day however multiday specialist Budjargal Byambaa (MGL) stepped up a gear to take control and even though Victoria lead at one point, the Mongolian  had enough in the tank to take the overall win. Local resident Anna Miglio (USA) took third place for the women and Byron Lane (USA) was third man.
Jeff Hagen (USA) in the men’s 75 to 79 age group set a new World Record of 265.6858 K/166.5384 miles, pending ratification, breaking the former record of 259 K/161 miles.
