Not quite over
Abichal left himself with 26 laps this morning to complete his goal. It was cool at the start, just 59 f but with bright sunshine. the 2 mile race took place at 8 am across the way, so there were plenty of visitors to the 3100 mile course. At around 10 am with the race flag in one hand and a Welsh flag in the other, Abichal crossed the finish line to complete 3100 miles. His time of 55 days 3 hours 47 minutes 10 seconds is a personal best, Welsh and UK record, by more than 4 1/2 hours. As is tradition with the European runners, after a short ceremony he continued on for 13 more laps to complete 5000 km, also new records. Suprabha continues for a few more days , as the only woman in the race.
