My son finished at 573 – to finish at all is exceptional in a race like that which should be taken in the spirit of to take part is more important than the place you finish at,in one piece and alive to tell the tail. I am just glad I still have a son, my only child who is just under 40 years, and my lovely daughter-in-law, a husband and father to my two lovely grandchildren. To me it does not matter the position he finished so long as he is still with us, well.
Both my son and myself are ex Military – me, I would have dropped just yards in the environment so to complete and finish in that hostile region is amazing as to all who managed to accomplish.
Thank you for the limited information it was/is appreciated.
