Hamelinck Wouter finished first in the inaugural La Transaharienne – a non stop 250 km race through a rocky and arid mountainous plateau region in southern Algeria and the Sahara Desert.
In second place was Jean Baptiste Francou and third was Pierre Gagnière.
Marzia Bonavita won the ladies race followed by Marianne Blangy, and third was Marisa Marchini.
This race is one of a series of desert races taking place throughout the year.
