Jesper Kenn Olsen has finished World Run 2. His facebook page reports that after a final 31 hour leg covering 200 km he reached Cape Spear in Newfoundland. The World Run 2 was approximately 37,000 km which Jesper has completed since he began the run way back on July 1 2008 at Nordkapp with Sarah Barnett.

It’s hard to get the mind around the immensity of this project. 4 years of running almost every day and thrown in for good measure are a few races I am aware of – 48 hours in Gothenburg when he was back in Europe getting hospital treatment for an infection in his arm and more recently the Everglades 50 miler in Florida and the 2012 Self-Transcendence 6 day race in New York whilst he was in the area, running 400 miles in 6 days to finish 4th.

This second run followed three years or so after the conclusion of World Run 1 which began in Greenwich London 1st January 2004. Returning back to London on the 23rd October 2005 Jesper Olsen completed the first fully documented run around the world with 26,232 km.

Congratulations to Jesper Olsen on his amazing 63,000 km journeys around the world.
