24 Hour World Championships 2007, Quebec, Canada

My Report Part 1

The drive up to Quebec with Ray Krolewicz was a chance to catch up on some old stuff. When we got to Drummondville there were athletes everywhere. We quickly made connections with some old friends. I was particularly happy to see Sandra Barwick the ultra running legend from New Zealand, she is now the manager of the New Zealand team. The opening ceremony and parade was pretty low key, it was also a little confusing as to where to pick up our numbers for the open race. Ray and I were lucky to be able to stay in one of the dorms, this was a chance to spend some time with the other athletes. Meals were served cafeteria style. We also found out from other runners that the direction of the course had been changed, the course was quite hilly and as a result of this change was now mostly uphill.

more about the race itself in part 2.

Check out the results at the IAU site there is a link to the right.
