Unix 6 Day/48 Hour Race 2011

The Unix 6 Day/48 Hour Race 2011 got underway about and hour and a half ago in Balatonfured on the shore of Lake Balaton in Hungary. 30 runners were signed up for the 6 day and 23 for the 48 hour plus there are team categories in both events.

William Sichel is making an attempt at the 129 year old Scottish 6 day record set by George C. Noremac – 567 miles in 6 Days, set in 1882, at  Madison Square Garden, in New York.

The UK’s Heather Foundling-Hawker is also running. The course is flat and the weather at the start is fine though a little breezy.
