The Ultra Race of Champions, a new event is being planned for September 24th and will be taking place in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The “UROC” 100K Trail Race will take place over the same weekend as the Great Eastern Endurance Run 50K Trail Race and half-marathon. One of the board members is Geoff Roes, current Western States record holder and along with Tracy Garneau was voted the 2010 ultrarunner of the year by Ultrarunning magazine.
$10.000 in cash prizes await the winners. The race is hoped to bring the best ultrarunners in the world together to compete at a high level on trails.
