The two top runners in the Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race are scheduled to finish tomorrow in what has become an amazing sprint for the finish with only 15 miles separating them. Yuri Trostenyuk reached 3016.2 miles last night to maintain his top position but Ashprihanal Aalto who set a new course record last year has been the leading daily runner for about a week and is closing fast on the top spot. Yuri may have enough cushion to hang on but Ashprihanal can hit 80 miles when everything falls into place and that would bring the closest final day the race has ever seen. (As I write this Asprihanal is 11 miles behind according the scoreboard on the live webcam.)
Atmavir may finish Friday if all goes well and Vasu will finish on day 50 or 51.
Kaneenika is still on for a finish and technically Surasa is too but she has been struggling with shin splints for several weeks now and its touch and go as she has fallen a little behind.
