Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race 2017 – Daily Updates – Day 30

Daily Diary
Monday 17th July – Day 30

Those with tummy problems, with the exception of Nidhruvi, seem to have recovered after early nights and some rest. All ten are on the start line at 6am.
Smarana bravely struggles throughout the day and makes 82 laps.
Nidhruvi takes an early break in the hope that rest will enable her to recover. Eventually she returns and does really well to post 64 laps.

It was another great day, weather wise.
A time for the leaders to grind on, those who had lost a lot of ground to look to a new strategy to try and come back. Coming back is so difficult, and needs courage not to do too many laps too quickly. They must try and just do 2 or 3 laps more than the new daily minimum and have no poor days!!!. Yolanda did her best daily total with 124 laps. She is very keen to claw back the lost laps but this was perhaps too many, too soon, and how she feels tomorrow will let us know.

The greatest sight today was Ananda-Lahari “flying” round all day to record an incredible 147 laps (80.673 miles) on day 30. The best daily total to date, and 9 laps more than his 138 way back on day 14. But he is 10th and last and needs over 72 miles per day to finish under 52 days. !!!!

Crew Chief.
