San Francisco 50 Mile Endurance Challenge 2010

For immediate release, Lugano, Switzerland, December 4th, 2010: The North Face®, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, announces 2nd place finish for Lizzy Hawker (UK) and 3rd place for Kami Semick (USA) at The North Face® Endurance Challenge Championships 50-Miles, held in San Francisco, California, on December 4th, 2010.

Situated in the visually stunning Marin Headlands just north of San Francisco, California, The North Face® Endurance Challenge Championships presented by Gore-Tex® is renowned for its repeated elevation change. The rugged terrain features repeated uphills and downhills of several hundred feet at a time.

Anna Frost (NZE) took 1st place, completing the race in 07:45:03. In her element, The North Face® athlete, Lizzy Hawker (UK), completed the race with a strong 2nd place position, finishing in a time of 07:58:22. American, and fellow team mate, Kami Semick (USA), finished a close third, in a time of 08:01:05. 75 women took part in the race.

In the men’s category, The North Face® athlete, Jez Bragg (UK) finished a respectable 6th place at 07:14:47, from a start field of 220 men. Miguel Heras claimed first place with 06:46:56.

Bragg, Hawker and Semick each achieved first in their respective age groups.

The North Face Endurance Challenge was awarded “Best Green Race Series” by Trail Runner magazine in 2009.
