LA – New York 2011

The 9th Trans American footrace started yesterday in Huntington Beach in California – 3,200 miles spread over 70 consecutive daily stages. 14 runners began this epic challenge of a lifetime.

Organising a Trans-Am race was the dream of Serge Girard who eventually decided to run the event and the responsibilities for race directing were taken up by Laure Magnan.

Every one made it to the end of day 1. Rainer Koch finished the first 45 mile stage in just under 7 hours. Day 2 starts in Norco and finishes in Hesperia – a 48.9 mile day.
