The 5th annual KEYS100 took place May 19 and 20, 2012. The 100 mile race is a point-to-point event beginning in Key Largo and Marathon for the 50 mile race and ends in Smathers Beach, Key West on the Atlantic Ocean . 133 starters and 98 finishers.
Some excellent performances topped by Mike Morton who has been in great form recently winning Hinson Lake 24 hour race with 163.9 miles, winning Long Haul in 13:18 and setting a course record at Umstead with13:11. Mike took first place againat the Keys100 in 13:42:52. Second place overall was Alyson Venti finishing in 16:07:06 and close behind was last years 12 hour winner Tatyana Spencer crossing in 16:12:57.
Out of the 115 starters in the 50 mile race, Johnaton Swanson was first man in 7:29:39 and the first woman home was Katalin Nagy, second place overall in 7:44:29.
