BOA VISTA ULTRAMARATHON N.7: ENTRIES OPENED!
The endurance competitions network is growing. After the twinning with the Orobie SkyRaid, the Boa Vista Ultramarathon becomes the qualification contest valid to participate in the Tour de Mont Blanc 2008.

Boa Vista Ultramarathon latest edition is by now far away in our memory,
but those who took part in this competition can still feel inside the
magic sensation of that fantastic adventure in
hand, it seems like an entire life has been passing by, because the
desire to start again is really strong. We have to wait just a few
months, until December, from the 7th to the 9th, to attend the race or
simply to support the athletes by watching the competition where desert
and ocean get together in harmony. A 150 km no-stop race in which the
strength of mind may count more than the legs. As a matter of fact, with
the help of a road book provided at the start line, the athlete will
have to choose and indicate not only his strategy of race, but also the
best itinerary to get to the check points and to the finishing line, and
of course where to do the few allowed stops along the track. Sometimes
the impressive landscape crossed during the trip helps the athletes find
the energies. After all, this could be considered a meaningfull trip,
which well symbolizes the variety of life.
Boa Vista is the third by size of the Cape Vert islands, and it is
surrounded by white beaches washed by limpid waters, in a nature
dominated by evocative dunes of golden sand. It is the perfect
destination for passionate divers (there is a wide presence of
well-preserved remains of galleons and vessels) and for windsurf and
kytesurf lovers ( for its amazing wind), the island has now conquered a
third identity as a running destination thanks to the Boa Vista
Ultramarathon.
The pool of sponsors that this time again support the initiative
organized by Friesian Team and by the Boa Vista Marathon Club is
confirmed, and at their side there are sponsors such as BresciaLat,
Enervit, Anfabo and the Ca’ Nicola Boa Vista residence.
Among the latest news for the 2007 edition there is the agreement with
Orobie SkyRaid, the race that is valid for the 2007 Skyrunning World
Championship Team Contest, which will take place the 5th August in
Italy, along the Orobie path nearby Bergamo city. It is about relay
races of three athletes who will challenge themselves along the 84
kilometer trail. The winning team will be able to enter the Boa Vista
Ultramarathon 2007 for free. Finally, it is important to point out that
the Boa Vista Ultramarathon is a competition valid for the qualification
in the Tour de Mont Blanc 2008: 163 kilometers across France, Italy and
Switzerland with a difference in altitude of more than 8900 meters, to
be covered in a maximum time of 46 hours.
The enrollment for the Boa Vista Ultramarathon of December is already
open: those who will enroll within 31st July will pay a 320 euro fee,
after that date the fee will be 360 euro, deadline 30th September. The
late-comers (but only if there will be bibs left) will pay 400 euro.
