The Marathon des Sables is a 6 day stage race that this year ran from Takkourt N’takouit to Kourci Dial Zaid in Morocco. Over 800 competitors had to carry food and gear across each of the daily stages through various terrain.
This years winners were Moroccan Rachid El Morabity in 20:56:19 and the ladies winner was Frenchwoman Laurence Klein in 26:57:24.
Top UK runners were Tobias Mews (21st) and Jen Salter 9th lady and 87th overall. Race results are available at the link below.
