Spartathlon 2010 – Updates

This weekend the legendary Spartathlon is taking place in Greece. Spartathlon is a 246 kilometre (152.85 miles) ultramarathon race held in Greece since 1983 between Athens and Sparta. Renowned for its difficult cut-off schedule this race is difficult by any standards and the course record is (20:25:00) held by Yiannis Kouros who he won the first edition of the race.

This year the first three runners to reach checkpoint 43 at 148.5 km were:

Men

2. Valmir Nunes 20:30

Women (CP 35 124 km)
1. Emily Gelder 19:28
2. Akiko Sakamoto 19:54
3. Heather Foundlig-Hawker 20:01
