IAU World and European 24 Hour Championships 2016/17

Albi 24 HourThe IAU World and European 24 Hour Championships 2016 will take place in Albi, France. The date is scheduled for October 22nd/23rd and the venue is the Albi Municipal Stadium. The course looks to be a flat loop in and around the stadium. In 2015 the Albi 24 hour was the French National championships.

The IAU World and European 24 Hour Championships 2017 will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland at Victoria Park. The post on the IAU site reads:

Belfast to Host 24 Hour World Championships in 2017

Belfast has been selected to host the next 24 Hour World Championships in 2017.  
The bid presented by this Northern Ireland city was very strong and the Local Organizing Committee have started work to host the event next year. 
The 24 Hour championships will take place July 1st and 2nd in Victoria Park in East Belfast.
We wish the LOC the very best of luck as they progress towards the organization of the event. As we get closer to the event we will present more information.

The event has support from Belfast City Council, long time race sponsors Energia, Athletics NI, acting on behalf of  UK Athletics, Athletics Ireland, the Charles Hurst Group and Dame Mary Peters said Ed Smith, Bid Chairperson and Race Director.
