Mont Blanc has a new sister – A new partner event has been announced that will take place on Mount Fuji in Japan. Scheduled for May 20-22 2011 Race Director Tsuyoshi Kaburaki bills the event as Japans first 100 mile trail race. The event has two options: 160 or 90 km. The longer race has an 800 runner limit, 8000 m of altitude gain with a 48 hour cut-off. The 90 km race will field up to 1200 runners, 4,500 m gain and 26 hours in which to complete the race.
According to sources the 160 km event sold out within an hour of registration opening. However the site says application forms in English will be available from February 14th.
