After a total of 14 days and 8 hours of running (with forced rest of 7 days in between) and 1009km on some pretty tough trail, Richard Bowles finishes his run arriving in Dan today.
After developing an infection in his left foot and despite having it drained and treated with painkillers, the problem forced Richard to stop and abandon his original 12 day plan to run the Israeli National Trail.
After resting and recovering for a week, Richard resumed the run covering 400 km in the last four days to complete the project.
Richard is raising money and awareness for the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI) campaigns to protect Israel’s environment, promote sustainable development, nurture environmental education and love of the land, and conserve biodiversity. SPNI is not only the oldest non-profit in Israel, but the largest, with the widest range of activities.
“SPNI are the custodians of the Israel National Trail, and were the obvious choice for Charity Partner for the RUN INT Project”, says Richard
