Mother Road 100 Mile, November 11, 2006
I vowed I would never run an ultra in cold weather again. I also decided that people who ran more than one 100 miler were sick. Why would anyone want to repeatedly subject themselves to this? I was cold, my feet hurt, my legs hurt, my stomach was on the verge of rebellion, my fingers were numb. What was good about it? Don and I were on Route 66 in Oklahoma, running (and walking) on a road with no shoulder, hoping that pickup trucks and other traffic wouldn’t hit us.
