Subject: Info on U.S. National & World Trophy 50km Races
Information forwarded on behalf of USATF and IAU:
The Caumsett State Park 50km, to be held March 1st in Huntington, Long Island, NY, in addition to hosting the U.S. National Championship once again this year, has also been named the inaugural North American selection race for the IAU 50km World Trophy race.
The IAU World Trophy 50km will be held October 31st in Gibraltar.
This year will be the first that the IAU 50km Trophy event field has expanded beyond the continent of Europe, with selection races now being held in North America, Asia, and Africa. U.S. National male and female winners meeting the IAU time standards will automatically qualify for the World Trophy, receiving travel grants plus free accommodations and entry. Those running qualifying non-winning times at the selection races will be eligible for consideration as wild card entries.
