Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race 2017 – Daily Updates – Day 17

Daily Diary
Tuesday 4th July

The drinks/food/ lap recording stations are decked with American flags, and the “street artist” has chalked the Statue of Liberty on the pavement, so the race has certainly taken on the Independence Day mood.
Another great running day, starting cool, not too warm during the day and very little wind.
Today sees the “middle packers” pass the 1000 mile mark
1) Smarana Puntigam – despite continual struggles with shoes and blisters.
2) Sergey Kuzmin. – who seems to get stronger. And stronger and manages the conditions so well.
3) Harita Davies – with seemingly strong focus and a calmness, beyond her experience.
4) Yolanda Holder – ? with an enormous smile, who would have given her any chance of this on Day 2, but she has mastered the event and reached this – for her, a great milestone with more surely to come. But for today she can savour 16 days 11 hours 42 mins 58 seconds
