The 24 Hour race season is in full swing now and this weekend, May 9/10, sees the Self-Transcendence 24 hour in Basel, Switzerland. Hosted by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, this is one of Europes most popular 24 hour races and after 21 years is widely recognised as a great race. According to the startlist there will be 79 runners on the starting line on Saturday and with the best European ultrarunners recovering from last weekends World and European Championships, the field has been levelled somewhat. Eight countries are represented and John Pares and Ramona Thevenet-Smith from the UK will be running as well as 3100 mile runner Christopher Mullauer
