Subject: Run Across Montana Stage Race
Greetings:
This is a very advanced notice. I am just beginning to delve into the details of a stage format run across Montana. It will begin in or near Yellowstone National Park
(my current tentative plan is for starting at the MT border near Mammoth), and finish
in or near Glacier National Park.
The event will be primarily on roads. It will be routed on lesser used roads where possible.
There should be at least a few stages of trails.
I hope to have the event in *late September to early October of 2008.***
I am sending this early notice because runners seem to be planning their events quite far into the future. I would appreciate hearing from any runners who are genuinely interested in the run and wish to give it serious consideration.
From preliminary forrays into possible routes, I expect a distance of about 550 miles, to be done in ten stages. I think it would be a bad idea to run this as a continuous event, even though I am glad to have participated and completed the Run Across Ohio as a “go as you please” event.
This will be about twice as far as that event was, and my thinking is that once a race takes more than 2 days, it is best not to have the runners roaming the countryside sleep-deprived and delirious.
I do not yet know what the entry fee will be. A crew will be a requirement.
So, please, think this over, and let me know if interested. Those who express interest early, and stay in touch as details are worked out, are the people who will be given
the first opportunity to enter.
As Howie Mandell used to say, “C’mon, it’ll be fun”!
Yabbba-dabbba-doooooo,

I would be interested in the run across Montana run.
I’m interesting in hearing more as the details are worked out.
