The Spanish National 24 hour race championships will take place on the 9/10 of May 2009.

…I embarked myseld as RD on a 24h road race last year and I’d like to share it with you. "Las 24", Spanish National Challenge of 24h, had its first version on a dull and rainy day which is a rare thing for May in Spain. Further, it rained for almost 20h on a row and it almost spoiled our plans. See, we had designed an officially certified IAU course of 1000m which went round our Plaza (bulls were taken away weeks before). But area is arena, and it got about 4 inches of water along the night prior to race.
Course redesigned (it is fantastic how maths work) on the outer ring -see photos- and volunteers gathered, we had our debut in the ultra scenario with over 70 entrants and one only thought: next year we spend race entries’ budget on the man of the weather forecast.
If any of you has time and intentions to cross to Europe in May, it could be a lovely opportunity to see you there. By the way (pre-entries and) website is already working.
