A documentary on Lu Chiu Shu-jung, a Taiwanese female ultramarathon runner who had a leg and a foot amputated in 2008 will be shown in cinemas March 22-24 in Taipei and Kaohsiung, the movie production company, Impress Productions, said Thursday.
The 70-minute “Forever Runner” is directed by Jang Da-jung and features the story of Chiu Shu-jung, who had to have her right leg and left foot amputated after Chiu’s feet became infected during the 2008, 1,150-km La Transe Gaule ultramarathon, in which she had to run from Roscoff, a small fishing village in northwestern France, to Gruissan-Plage in the south, in 18 days. Despite the blisters Chiu insisted on completing the race.
