Arry Beresford-Webb has just about a week to go in her trans-circling of Wales – the first attempt of its kind. The sports therapist based in Porth in the Rhondda Valley in Wales has been running at least a maathon a day since she began the DragonRun which started March 25th in Cardiff Bay. Having to deal with rain, wind, exhaustion and injury has been a real challenge for Arry who has been supported by her business partner Guy Hicks who originally had planned to run himself…
The run followed the All Wales Coastal Path along the South-West Walesh coast and then took the 1200-year-old Offa’s Dyke Path – a 177 mile route connecting North and South Wales.
Guy and Arry climbed Kilimanjaro in 2010 in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre and who will be the recipients of funds raised from this 45 day ultrarunning extravaganza along with the Gozo Critical Care Unit on the Island of Gozo,Malta. Arry, who’s parents passed away at the Gozo CCU, is hoping to raise £25,000 for the two hospitals
The DragonRun 1027 finishes May 5th back in Cardiff Bay where Arry began her run after running from Chepstow to Cardiff along the Eastern section of the Coastal Path making it the first circumlocation of the principality – an amazing achievement.
