Finn reaches 2000 miles

Just before 3pm on day 29 Asprihanal Aalto from Finland reached 2000 mile for the 8th time in the Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race. All but 3 of the 14 runners in this years race have now passed 1550 miles the half way distance mark.

Some of the runners have overcome early injuries and improved their performance, some are now experiencing injuries late in the race. Asprihanal has an 120 mile lead over Pranab Vladovic from Slovakia, who had been in second place earlier in the race, dropped down to 5th and has returned to second place. So many thngs can happen in a race this long.
