The popular 50 mile/50 km race sponsored by Sunmart who pulled the plug last year after many years of funding the event, will continue in a modified form with the 50 miler being replaced with a shorter 12.5 mile loop to encourage new runners to get involved in trail races. The organisers hope to revive the 50 miler in the not too distant future if there’s enough support and have renamed the event Texas Trail Runs and will take place December 5th 2009. New Race Director is Bart Childers.
