The 2011 Transe Gaule have reached the 8th day on their journey from Roscoff in Northern France to the Mediterranean Sea. Previous winner in 2004 Jean-Jacques Moros has re-established his reputation as an excellent stage runner by winning every stage so far and has a 2 hour 20 minute lead over the equally consistent Rene Strosny who won the event in 2008.
Carmen Hildebrand is leading the ladies with several hours over Catherine Massif.
