One of Ireland’s greatest ultrarunners, Tony Mangan, has set off on another round the world adventure, the World Walk, after successfully fulfilling a dream of running the globe starting in 2010 and finishing in 2014.
This new project was only recently announced – February 17th according to his facebook post and he sent this note before he began:
Today at three pm in Dublin I set out to walk around the world ! I will re start walking England tomorrow morning, arrive at One bus station from Dublin at 3:30 am!! And will depart at a reasonable hour after breakfast!

I particularly would be grateful of meeting people in Liverpool who could kindly guide me out of the city ! Runners walkers and anyone else are welcome to drop by unnoticed on my way to Hull!

Tony is the current world 48 hour indoor track record-holder in addition to world record for 48 hour treadmill and was the first runner in recorded history to run two consecutive days of over 200km (223 km and 203) and in addition to running around the world, Tony has also cycled around it!

First leg starts at Run-Logic in Dublin City Centre to Dublin Port to Liverpool. Hull to hook of Holland, Berlin to Poland – Lithuania – Latvia – Moscow – Irkutsk (Siberia) to Mongolia and then to China.
