Started 19 years ago by Gérard Cain in Antibes, this competition stands as the only race of its kind in France. Each year, it draws around a hundred dedicated athletes, including both runners and walkers, from approximately twenty different countries
What is the 6 Jours de France? The Ultimate Test of Endurance
The 6 Jours de France is an epic 144-hour pedestrian race, a true test of physical and mental fortitude spanning six full days.
The fundamental objective for each participant is to cover the greatest possible distance within this timeframe, with athletes free to choose whether they achieve this by running or walking. The event is characterised by a strong sense of determination, endurance, and self-surpassing, all while fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support amongst the participants.
The upcoming edition of this prestigious event, takes place from 28th April to 4th May 2025
The 6 Jours de France has an IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) label and is sanctioned by the FFA (Fédération Française d’Athlétisme). It garners substantial international attention, with the event being followed in over 80 countries thanks to live internet streaming.
The Venue: Camping l’Ardéchois
Since 2022, the 6 Jours de France has found its home in the idyllic setting of the 5-star Camping l’Ardéchois, located in the commune of Vallon Pont d’Arc. The race unfolds on a precisely measured 1131.28-metre course that is entirely flat and paved, providing participants with optimal conditions to achieve exceptional performances. Furthermore, all the facilities of the camping site are made available to the participants and their accompanying persons, ensuring maximum comfort throughout the duration of the event.
Participants benefit from a range of accommodation options situated directly on-site along the course, including comfortable bungalows as well as designated areas for tents and camping cars.
