THE COASTAL CHALLENGE ANNOUNCES GUEST ADVENTURE TOURS FOR 2007
Guests Are Invited to Participate in Exciting Adventure Tours
During “Route of Fire” Expedition RunTM February 2007
TRUMBULL, CONN. — The Coastal Challenge has announced the Guest Adventure Tours scheduled for the third installment of the World’s Expedition RunTM. Setting a new trend in expedition racing and allowing family and friends also to “take on the adventure,” The Coastal Challenge offers exciting adventure tours provided each day throughout the week-long event.
“With our guest adventure tours, runners aren’t the only ones who will enjoy the adventure of The Coastal Challenge,” said Tim Holmstrom, race director. “We allow runners to bring their significant other, family and friends along who might be more interested in exploring the rugged Costa Rican landscape on a nature hike, by horseback or in a kayak.”
The Guest Adventure Tour Package is unique to The Coastal Challenge in ultra running and adventure racing events and is a way for serious runners to include their family and friends. Both runners and guests reconvene back at camp each evening after the day’s events to share stories and enjoy the camaraderie of the entire event.
*A Summery of the 2007 Guest Adventure Tour Package Currently Includes:
Day 1:    Hiking to Fortuna Waterfall, hot springs and a canopy tour. Possibly an evening volcano hike.
Day 2:Â Â Â Â Horseback riding along the beach and trails, or kayaking, and hiking up the Arenal volcano.
Day 3:Â Â Â Â Hiking to Rio Celeste, one of the most strikingly beautiful rivers in Costa Rica.
Day 4:Â Â Â Â Zip-line canopy walk, canyon trekking and natural stone water slide, or horseback riding on a mountain trail.
Day 5:Â Â Â Â Hiking trails through Santa Rosa National Park to a remote and beautiful swimming hole.
Day 6:Â Â Â Â Beach activities in front of the beach hotel at the finish line.
