New World Best Performance 48H on road for Wolfgang Schwerck (GER) (Jan Vddriessche, 16 Sep)
The IAU Executive Council followed the recommendation of the IAU record committee to recognise as new World Best Performance :
48H on road : Wolfgang Schwerck (GER) 420.000km ran in Athens, April 1st 2007.
The new World Best performance is ran on the 1km circuit as an intermediate result during the Ultramarathon Festival race in Athens which started on March 30th 2007.
The First 24H he ran 231km, the second 24H 189km
The old 48 hour record, 413.500 Km, was held by Yiannis Kouros during the 72h race in Arizona from 29th of December 2005 to 1st January 2006.
