The Trans Aq is a 200 km 6 stage multiday race along the Aquitane coast in the south-west of France. Established in 2005, the 2010 will be the 6th edition of an event that is considered a great preparation/alternative for the Marathon de Sables but at a much cheaper price.
Currently there are 140 runners signed up including 18 Brits out of a 200 limit. The event is open to teams as well as individuals
From May 31 to June 5, 2010 Trans Aq’ in short
* Ultra Aquitanian Trans Trail
* 6th edition * approximately 220 km along the Aquitanian coastline
* Forest trails (85%) and beaches (15%)
* 6 stages from 25 to approximately 60 km
* A night stage (plus Dune of Pyla 300 feet high)
* Course well-marked
* Semi food self-sufficiency (2 times 3 days)
* Bivouac under tents
* Race open to individual and teams
* Classification by teams calculated on the 3rd member’s finish time
* Teams of 5 runners
* Entry Fees: 650 or 700 Euros according to date of application, (3 meals included, boats transfers, lodging last day and return to Bordeaux in the coach included)
* Prizes: Medals, T.shirts, regional product for each runner
* Entries limited to 200 runners
