The organizers of the inaugural Indiana Trail 100 mile 2013 ultra-marathon in northeastern Indiana said the weekend event was a success attracting runners from 29 states and Canada.
Mike Pfefferkorn was quoted as saying “that about 30 percent of the 180 people who entered the 100-mile ultra-marathon footrace inside Chain O’ Lakes State Park finished the course” a 30 percent completion rate.
The course was run on a 16 2/3-mile trail inside Chain O’ Lakes State Park, about 30 miles north of Fort Wayne.
The race was won by Michele Yates in 17:35 – some 40 minutes ahead of first man Mark Ott.
The 50 mile option was won by in Paul Dott in 7:31:20.51. First lady was Barb Delgado in 8:18:01.72
