The worlds premier 48 hour race got underway today in Surgeres, France. 25 runners from around the world have been invited to this special event on the European multiday calendar.
Hourly updates are posted on the site and at the 5 hour mark, Daniel Oralek from the Czech Republic leads Japan’s Mami Kudo by a half a km or so with 56,729 km. Mami impressed last year with 385,130 km. Also from Japan is Ryochi Sekiya who came second last year with over 402 km and could be looking for a performance to top the recent record set in Brive at the Worlds 24 hour championships by Shingo Inoue
