Trans Britain 2009 – Updates

gobeyondultra_3The Trans Britain is a six day stage race that starts in Scotland and concludes in Wales, taking in some truly spectacular mountain scenery.
This event this year runs from September 12th – 18th starting at Robert the Bruce’s Cave in Scotland, 3 miles North of Gretna Green. The route heads south into Cumbria and has two stages in the Cumbrian mountains then two stages in the Yorkshire Dales before a final stage in Wales.

This year there is a small field. Race organiser Steve Adams says ” We have 5 runners, the order on day 2 is Greame Chamberlin and David Wilson in joint first followed by Karen Levy who is 37 seconds ahead of Andy Green and then Jen Jackson.”

Through the Trans Britain, Go Beyond aims to support Teach Africa in raising funds raise funds to support the secondary education of Kenyan children from the slums of Nairobi.
