Ultra-runner Scott Giddings was forced to postpone his 480-mile “Nebraska Landmark Run†just under the halfway mark due to pain. Giddings was attempting to run across the state to support Girls and Boys Town in Omaha.
Giddings stopped his run last Sunday just before reaching Gothenburg, completing 232 miles of the 480-mile run. He said things started to go downhill after he reached Paxton as a pain developed in his lower left leg.
While he had hoped to run 30 to 35 miles per day, Giddings said he dropped to about six miles on a couple of days and even took a full day off to rest. He completed three miles on Sunday, but said they were the most excruciating miles ever.
