Ultrarunning weekend in October on Reunion Island. Competitors climb 5 peaks at about 2000m, skirt the volcano, run through unique and varied terrain.
The winner completes the race in about 22 hours while the last finisher is allowed 64 hours. About 70% make it to the finish.
Founded
The Grand Raid was founded in 1992,Trail de Bourbon in 2001 and Mascareignes in 2011.
The Events
Grand Raid de la Réunion features three events:
- Le Grand Raid (la Diagonale des Fous)162km, 9643m+
- Trail de Bourbon 93km, 4920m+
- The Mascareignes, 61km, 3036m+
