Founded in 1983 by Harold Sieglaf who continues to run in the event, the event began with 6,12,24 hour races with the 6 and 12 hour races susequently dropped. The race has been held at various locations in and around Phoenix and has been hosted by the Arizona Road Racers on a number of occasions.
