Jean-Paul Praet

Jean-Paul Praet ( 8 November 1955 ) is a former Belgian ultra runner . He was European champion in the 100 km and multiple Belgian champion at various distances. Also he improved the world record in the 100 km and 6 hours. He also won eight times the Night of Flanders , a ultraloop about 100 km (1986, 1988-1994). Content

Career

In 1986 won the Praet The Night of Flanders in an incredibly honorable 6:03.51. It is generally thought that this course was too short, but his time is recognized by the VWJL In 1989, the Night of Flanders expanded and attracted international athletes. In this edition he received opposition from the Hungarian Ernő Kis-Király , who went hunting for the bonus of 30,000 francs, which was offered for the first athlete to the halfway point Middelkerke passed.
