Subject: Wickham Park stage 2 results

Yesterday 6 of 38 runners completed the first 50 mile stage at Wickham Park and were eligible to continue today. Of those 6, 3 started and one finished, Joe Ninke of Sebastian FL in 11:05:18. His total was 22:01:17 for 100 miles.
He is only the second person to finish 100 miles in the 13 year history of the race. However I could not talk him into coming back for stages 3 and 4 to try for the 200 mile fake rock (the only award in this race), so the results at

Also, Mark Jackson of W. Melbourne FL, who is currently in Iraq, ran his own version of the race at Camp Slayer, one of Saddam’s former palaces. Here in Florida we were fortunate to have a high temperature of only 84 F for both stages. The weather in Iraq was a low of 95 F and high of 120 F. Here is his excellent race report. http://www.mattmahoney.net/wickham/07slayer.txt
