The Offa’s Dyke race takes place on a National Trail that spans Wales north to south starting near Chepstow in the South and finishing at Prestatyn in the North - approximately 185 miles with 9085 metres of elevation. The event takes place every two years with a shorter 100 mile option the Mercian Challenge finishing at Montgomery. Offa’s Dyke is an earthwork defence built by King Offa of Mercia in 780AD and which separated Mercia and Powys (to some extent what are England and Wales today).
