The German Ultra Marathon Association (DUV) is an advocacy organization for organising and supporting ultramarathon runners and ultramarathons in Germany. It was formed on 29 December 1985 in Rodenbach and with approximately 1,500 members is the world's largest organization for ultra-marathon runners.

The original aim in 1985

The German Ultra Marathon Association (DUV), established in late 1985 in Rodenbach, is an association of runners, put back in the race course over the marathon distance beyond. The aim of the DUV is the ultra long run to help the recognition as an independent running discipline. Which is the primary effort to organize official 100-km Championships and lead corresponding leaderboards. In the course of further development in ultra-long-country championships will also consider other distances are involved.
