Records

In 2006 Jon Basham set a new speed record on the Colorado Trail. (8 days, 13 hours/ 475 miles) The record formerly belonged to Hal Koerner at 9 1/2 days. The CT speed record is not in its infancy. There have been at least 4 legitimate attempts on the record by very capable athletes. For Jon to lower the record by a full day is testament to the body of effort he laid out this past summer. Jon hiked southbound and we used a one vehicle/one support person system. (Andrew Thompson)
