6 day races have been around for a long time and still attract imternational support. The means necessary to hold a 6 day event plus the committment required by the athlete to prepare for and complete the race narrows the field of candidates. Over the last few years with the popularity of the marathon distance making it an achievable goal, more runners have looked to the ultra as the next level and interest in the longer races is gradually unfolding.
