The High
Barry Walton's The High is a feature length documentary movie of the highest foot race in the world which takes place in the Himalayas of Northern India. Called The High the film features Dr. Rajat Chauhan whose vision the race is as he works against advice to create the 133-mile (222km) race covering the world's two highest motorable passes - Khardung La and Tanglang La both over 17,500 feet. The projects website says: "From interviews, archive footage, recreation shoots, and race coverage we unfold the making of, the running in, and brave completion of the first edition of the race and the come back story of the second. We open up the fear, the fight, and the fortitude of discovering the route and standing up to those who said, it can't be done. We watch as only three runners in the ultra world show up at the starting line and none but one finds it to the end. We uncover the altitude, avalanche, and elements that work to take them all away and show you in the end just how breath taking it is to run THE HIGH."
Director Barry Walton has been raising funds from the ultrarunning community since January 2012 to help bring the movie to fruition.
